Jim Mairs established the firm in 1979 and has been responsible for a wide range of projects. He specialises in producing innovative design concepts and is a specialist in site planning. He has been involved in several industrial and commercial developments, including IDB sites, Newtownabbey waste transfer station and the preparation of design concepts and a development plan for a new energy park for N Ireland.

Marnette Lyons has been partner with Environmental Design Consultants for twenty years and is involved in the full range of projects carried out by the firm. Miss Lyons was one of the founder members of the Northern Ireland Group of the Institute of Environmental Assessment and is responsible for the co-ordination of all environmental assessment work in the firm. Her main expertise is in project management and in the assessment of the visual landscape character and in the implementation of appropriate methodologies for such assessments.
